Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy for Stress Management in Central London

"It's not stress that kills us; it's our reaction to it." — Hans Selye, a pioneering researcher on stress

"In the past year, results from the Mental Health Foundation's 2018 study show that 74% of people have felt so stressed that they were overwhelmed or unable to cope.

Stress is not always negative; it is normal and has the ability to motivate us and enhance our performance. Stress occurs when pressure exceeds our ability to cope and can lead to exhaustion, anxiety, unpleasant feelings, and hinder our performance.

Stress-related diseases occur when we can't turn off our stress response and when stress becomes chronic. Therefore, learning to manage our stress is key to a healthy body and mind.

My aim is to help you build resilience to stress. What can I do to reduce stress?

With my Diploma in Stress Management and Resilience Building, I design and deliver Stress Management Training in the workplace, as well as work privately with clients dealing with a wide range of stress-related issues.

The treatment plan is tailor-made to suit each client's individual requirements.

I use a powerful combination of advanced CBT techniques, hypnotherapy, Applied Relaxation, problem-solving tools, assertiveness training, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) during the sessions to design and deliver stress management treatment that enhances your well-being and increases your resilience when facing stressful situations.

Here's what you can expect to learn:

  • Recognise how your thoughts influence your feelings, physical sensations, and behaviour, and how to replace irrational beliefs and self-talk with rational, realistic statements.

  • Reassess your existing stress coping responses, including their triggers and symptoms, and evaluate alternative coping strategies.

  • Receive extensive training in deep relaxation techniques, basic hypnotic skills, and mindfulness strategies.

  • Focus on building your psychological resilience by rehearsing cognitive and behavioural coping skills. You will gradually be exposed at your own pace to controlled, manageable doses of stress under hypnosis using Applied Relaxation.

  • Learn how to let go of stressful reactions before they escalate and how to cope with everyday problems, from small to more serious issues, as well as how to cope with future scenarios.
